Our Organization

Who Are We?
The Warrenville Arts Council is dedicated to public arts programming. We promote the awareness and appreciation of the arts in Warrenville and beyond. Our goal is to benefit the community by enhancing the quality of life and expanding economic activity. We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501-C3 organization.
The Council sponsors a variety of events encompassing both visual and performing arts that draw upon talent from the community, surrounding areas, and throughout the Midwest. We work towards enhancing communication among artists and various arts organizations in the area.

History
Our intrepid group kicked off an inaugural event in November, 2009, a mix of performance and visual art, aptly named Art Works 2009. Community response was positive, and the council decided to expand its arts efforts, so support from the City of Warrenville was sought. Partial funding in subsequent years has been received through grants from the City of Warrenville. Events have included repeats of Art Works, with Art Works/Allegro our signature 2012-2013 event. The Arts Council has offered educational events like these: Clay Space Hands-On, a Writer's Workshop and a photo contest called Picture This. Performances by Two For Brazil, a Writer’s Workshop, the Chicago Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble, the Waubonsie Community College Steel Drum band, and Chicago Dance Crash. This year, our Community Quilt project allows us to present display two gorgeous quilts to the city for display in public buildings.

This Season
Afternoon Jazz / Art on the Prairie returns September 21 and 22, with music as diverse as Dixieland, Latin, Jam and Jazz. The Naperville Chamber Players will grace the intimate setting of Trinity Lutheran Church on November 3, featuring flute, cello and anything from marimbas to harp to piano. The musical season rounds out with a resounding return of the Chicago Brass Band on February 14 at Immanuel Presbyterian!
